Crypto Ryan
Founder · Crypto Investor since 2014
I got into crypto in 2014 with no finance background — no degree, no Bloomberg terminal, no mentor. Just a laptop, a Coinbase account that barely worked, and a habit of reading everything I could find. Most of what I learned came from losing money on things I should have researched first.
I traded through the 2017 run-up and the 80% crash that followed. I watched FTX collapse in real time — I had been watching the warning signs for weeks. I've paid fees on exchanges I didn't need to use, held positions too long, and made every classic mistake at least once.
In 2023, I retired. I built an income strategy around covered-call and yield ETFs — and CryptoRyancy is what I built along the way to help people skip the expensive part of the learning curve.
No credentials. No hype. No paywall. Just what I actually know.
Started investing in cryptocurrency — back when most people thought Bitcoin was a scam.
Survived the bull market and subsequent 80% crash. Learned more from the crash than the run-up.
Started writing guides to help friends understand crypto without losing money on avoidable mistakes.
Launched CryptoRyancy.com as a full publication — honest research, no hidden agendas.
Navigated the FTX collapse and bear market. Documented everything — the warnings, the signals, the lessons.
Expanding into yield ETF strategies and crypto income investing. Building CryptoRyancy into the resource I wish existed when I started.
Personal experience first
Every exchange review, fee breakdown, and platform comparison is based on accounts I actually use or have used. No secondhand opinions.
Math over hype
If I can't show you the numbers, I won't make the claim. Fee comparisons, yield calculations, and risk math are all shown explicitly.
